What I do for PERFECT, Brilliant WHITE TEETH! 1.) I use NiteWhite 6% Hydrogen Peroxide two times a week (over night) every other week. 2.) Next, I use a 20 or 30% Carbamide Peroxide solution (in the same plastic, molded tray) for spot whitening/quick whitening. This video features my own opinions. Who said strawberries were an effective way to whiten your teeth?? They are NOT.
There are no natural ways to whiten your teeth.
You can do things like scrub the outside with abrasives to remove some darkening stain. This is what baking soda, Pearl Drops toothpaste or pumice would do. It is like sandblasting. And yes doing this too often does damage the tooth enamel.
“Bleaching” is a chemical process. Something like 8%, 10% or 16% (carbamide) PEROXIDE is used to open up the enamel prisms and oxygenate the tooth layers, thereby whitening them. The peroxide must be kept right up on the tooth surface for 4-8 hours a day, or light activated in the dentist’s chair. By the way, the opening up of the enamel prisms is why the teeth become sensitive quite quickly. However, it is temporary and will subside after a couple of days of discontinuing the bleaching.
Brushing with peroxide for a couple of minutes at a time….obviously won’t do much at all.
And neither will an other “home remedy”.
Apple cider vinegar can be used for teeth whitening, simply use it as a gargle diluted in a glass of water or add a few drops to your toothbrush and top it with toothpaste and brush . More remedies and information regarding your teeth at http://sites.google.com/site/dentalinfosite/teeth-whitening
