Question by Biz Owner: Dentist vs. Pharmacist and the “Doctor” title…?
I know that, realistically, they ARE considered Doctors..anyone with a PhD is considered a Doctor of THAT subject. However, my fiance’s Mom graduated from a 6-year Dental school in Bolivia and expects to be called Doctor…is a Pharmacist, in comparison, on the same level as a Dentist and allowed to be called Doctor?
I know that a Dentist is a Doctor..but we know Pharmacists and she feels like they do NOT deserve that title..and I was just thinking..WHY NOT? Their schooling was just as hard as yours and they DID earn their Doctorate. I’m just trying to understand WHY she would think this..because I don’t agree. I’m not going to say anything to her…I’m just curious what the public’s general take is on this.

No, she only did SIX years in Bolivia. She did not earn her Dental degree here.
