Korean Toothbrushing

Posted on 10 November 2010

Korean Dental Hygiene is taken to a whole new level. Not that the toothbrushes are super-technological. When’s the last time you saw a school where everyone had a toothbrush in hand? Awesome!

Who said anything about Koreans being more fashionable? Reading comprehension problem?

You know there is a reason why prep-schools have strict rules. All I am saying is that you have to understand those hair-regulations along that line of thinking in Korea.

BTW, the Korean government just dropped the hair regulation law for high school students. (I don’t know, maybe some Canadian teachers did a “naked women protest” or something in front of Korean embassy or something.)

i couldn’t help but say “oh my God” when i saw that toothbrush sterilization box…Wow

  18. aasrard says:

@shiragi992 / hey, are you a real Korean? I am not agree with you. Even they graduate their high school, they always do as everyone do. well, I think they are just mocking what they wear. I swear that all the koreans are not fashionable much more than other countries.

@kagnomi Oh really? Perhaps but crooked teeth amongst guys are far less common than girls. And girls tend to flash it more and retain it till their adulthood. Many Pop idols and teen magazine models flash them like it’s a gang sign. Quite a few of them do fix their teeth tho as many older Japanese man and women I met, their teeth were alright. Tho ofcourse they could also be natural.

  20. kagnomi says:

@Xentradi97 Ah, that clears it up. But the Japanese guys I met all had bad teeth…hmm…but the male models in magazines all take their photos with closed lip smiles. @.@ Regardless, thanks for the info. :)

  21. Xentradi97 says:

@kagnomi The crooked teeth in Japanese “girls” symbolize the young and innocence of a little girl. It’s a kawaii thing. The same do not apply to guys. People don’t find it cute for guys to have a crooked teeth.

  22. kagnomi says:

No wonder KOreans have such nice teeth. I’m Chinese and i noticed many people in my culture have bad teeth cause it’s expensive. As for the Japanese…they find crooked teeth charming so a model or actress with bucked teeth that are slightly yellow is find with them. Honestly, in this case, we should all follow Koreans.

  23. terrifaith08 says:

Wow I wonder if this should amaze me so much, but I’m truly fascinated at the idea of everyone brushing their teeth after lunch. The only kids in my school who brushed their teeth were the one’s with braces LOL.

So cool… and I really want that ultraviolet sterilization box. That’s really awesome :D

It’s true. I tracked down our original dentist from almost thirty years ago and he was still practicing last year. My mom got a couple of implants and a third of the cost it would have had she gotten them done here in the States. Even with airline tickets, it still cost her much less in the end. I still have gold crown from thirty years ago that are still good.

The most amazing is that every one has the same face, the same haircut and the same glasses =D
