This is my type of video, who did your video for you?

  2. DentistWestPalmBeach says:

I was searching through Youtube and found your video. Very helpful info, thanks

  3. ManuMontoya99 says:

I'm becoming a dentist not for helping people, but for the money

  4. Toxicjazzlove says:

@R3dTigerM40A3 you need a DDS degree or a DMD degree in order to be a Dentist. These are 4 year doctoral degrees. You can however become a dental hygienist an work without a Doctoral degree....you'll make around $50,000-$70,000 doing that :)

  5. maddybecker1 says:

I'm planning on being a dentist

  6. R3dTigerM40A3 says:

oo never mine its not a dss its a dec

  7. R3dTigerM40A3 says:

do u need to do a dss to be a dentist?

  8. headphones222 says:

    Erm yes it does?

It means that a mean avergae of the salarys is offset by dentists earning like half a million or something!!..

    Obviously it offsets it.....

  9. 789HA says:

@headphones222 Come on, this is basic maths. Just because the video says that the AVERAGE salary is 130K does NOT mean you can assume that most dentists earn less than this while very few earn much more... since you're talking about calculating averages here I'll let you work out how that's possible.

  10. headphones222 says:

I know what an average means...basically..its the mean average we are talking about here, hence the average of, 3, 7, and 8 = 6

If I suddenly add 15 and we take the average, we get that the average of, 3, 7, 8 and 15 = 11...so we have a much greater range. And the average has been affected by the larger vaule more so than the lesser ones...hence those massive salaries are not really for everyone, only a small amount of dentists earn those huge amounts.

  11. Underxman says:

    @headphones222

Dude, learn what the word average means and then come back. If the average is 130k, it doesnt mean that most of the salaries are lower, because it's the average of both high salaries and low salaries. Too bad my english isn't that good i'd have explained it to you correctly.

  12. headphones222 says:

No just taking into account thhe results well out of the range.

  13. Underxman says:

    @headphones222

Hahahaha, are you averaging the average salary? LOOOOOL

  14. 453mikej says:

I'm a dentist and I make twelve million dollars a year and I only work 2 days a year. fuck yea.

  15. actuary33 says:

I'd take the 50K and run lol

  16. headphones222 says:

Remember the word "average"...that means thats taking into account the massive salaries as well as the small ones.

So the reality is, the average salary is lower than $130,000

  17. keysofebony says:

@xianapple honestly I don't care about the money, I enjoy helping people and have always wanted to start my own business...or in this case practice. From what I'm unfortunately seeing all over this video's comment space, you and WarrenAch seem to have quite the opinionated argument and I choose not to be a part of it.

  18. xianapple says:

@WarrenAch Again I have no problem with people doing legitimate work for fair money. Dentist are not doing this and many are doing treatments on people that are completely un-needed. That reporter went to 50 offices and many of them were prepared to root canals on completely healthy teeth in addition to other major procedures. You are supporting a system that breeds this high level of dishonesty and fraud. Because someone does not support fraud does not make them cheap, it means they are honest

  19. xianapple says:

You're so desperate that you have resorted to taunting?

I don't respect Dentist and that is true. As for other doctors. I have respect for them as fraud is not so rampant in these professions and unlike dentists, most doctors support nationalized health care. Most US doctors prefer nationalization and want it as it is better for patients. Dentist do not

Wont change?. things are changing and public health care is playing a greater role in the US and private industry is becoming more regulated

  20. xianapple says:

@WarrenAch Really tell the cihi that who notes that it is easier for a cdn dr. to move to the US then vice versa. Also search US department of education > search PISA > then results. A report found in the US dep of edu notes Canadians have a superior education system. Not my words

As for quality - so this is why the US with all its private care leads the OECD in medical errors and medical error related deaths, because it is quality?

Cdn doctors are fee per service and not flat rate

  21. xianapple says:

..... We enjoy a higher standard of living with longer life span. And yes thanks to nationalization, we enjoy superior health care that is delivered at far less cost than the inferior US system. The government can deliver a superior dental system at lower cost to the patient, ensuring people who need treatment are treated..... not who can only afford it. Also ensuring a respectable wage is earned by the Doctors.

  22. xianapple says:

Quote exactly where I said Dentist should work for free??...Liar. Doctors bill the government, but in turn the gov has more say in the Dr's day to day work. They also serve as patient advocacy, more so than in the US. Hence why medical fraud is lower here, hence Canadian Doctors are less likely to engage in dishonest practices and less likely to make a medical error. (OECD 2006) As for liberal, Yes I am damn proud to be left of centre and live in a Canada that is also left of centre......

  23. WarrenAch says:

@xianapple Like i said, path is complicated and not everyone succeed to find the right job in the right place, this is why most move into Private settings,i'm tired arguing with your non sense, you make no point, you don't know what the fuck you're talking about, now just shut up,open a book, study to become a janitor,do something with your shit life because it's getting really annoying.

  24. xianapple says:

@WarrenAch US doctors are the highest paid in the world and if there are no positions and other countries standards are not up to par, then why are they recruitin overseas? Finland has the highest rated education system in the world and their doctors less than 1/2 what a US doctor makes as is true with various other highly educated US countries and yet they turn down opportunities to make more money in the US

  25. WarrenAch says:

@xianapple The Canadian candidate still has to do 2 to 3 years in Canada before leaving for U.S.,he also got to re-do his board exams in the U.S.
Remember,Specialist spots(Surgery,Internal Med,Lab spots) are limited and definitely hard to come by anywhere in a good city.A Hospital only needs 1-2 specialists in a specific fields.GPs have more spots though.

Still,Public Health is full of mediocrity, because the doc knows he's getting paid.
    In Private care,there's quality,nuff'said.
