I’m currently using Crest’s 3D vivid whitening strip set for my my somewhere offwhite teeth – and when I remove the strip – the gel is still on my teeth, do I spit it out? Do I leave it? or do I brush my teeth? The directions the box gives you just say, “Reveal a whiter, better smile.” Nothing saying to leave it on my teeth or spit it out. What do you think I should do?

Brush your teeth. The gel is the active peroxide that ‘whitens’ the teeth. It will continue to work even when the strips are off if the gel remains on your teeth. That might seem like a good thing, but not in this case. In your case some is left over and doesn’t all come off with the strip. As a result leaving the gel on would cause ‘splotchy’ spots to be whitened.. resulting in spotty whitening of teeth, and not a even tone.
